Nav Durga Yatra

The Nav Durga Yatra in Kashi is a powerful journey through the nine forms of Maa Durga, as described in Sanatan Dharma and especially celebrated during Navratri. Each temple corresponds to one of the nine divine forms—from Shailputri to Siddhidatri—and represents a specific energy center within the devotee’s soul.

This yatra is not just a physical walk through temples—it’s a spiritual transformation. From strength and stillness to knowledge, courage, and victory, each temple activates a quality of Shakti within. The temples are spread across various parts of Varanasi, such as Durga Kund, Kedar Ghat, Vishwanath Gali, Bhelupur, Shivala, and more.

The forms include:

• Brahmacharini – penance and wisdom
• Chandraghanta – protection and courage
• Kushmanda – vitality and creation
• Skandamata – nurturing energy
• Katyayani – fierce justice
• Kalaratri – destroyer of fear

Ideal for women, families, and spiritual seekers, this half-day journey is traditionally performed during Navratri, but can be done year-round for spiritual upliftment. The yatra culminates with offerings, chanting of Durga Saptashati stotras, and deep silence at each temple.
